Review of the Downs Hotelthe Downs Hotel embodies a blend of comfort and coastal charm, rich with opportunities for relaxation and discovery. The seafront view from my room was indeed remarkable, with a lovely balcony equipped with garden furniture--perfect for morning coffee. The well-appointed room featured a flat-screen TV and an excellent walk-in shower, ensuring a comfortable stay. Breakfast was particularly commendable, offering a tempting array of choices from fresh berries to a delightful smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, as well as hearty cooked options. Special commendation goes to the staff, notably Beth, whose attentiveness made our experience seamless despite the evident staff shortages. While we enjoyed one evening meal, a more extensive menu would have been preferable. Accessibility to the nearby beachfront allows for various outdoor activities. All in all, the Downs provides excellent value for a relaxing break, positioned uniquely at the crossroads of luxury and affordability. A wise choice for those seeking tranquility by the sea.
